Buck & Birch
Well known locally as food and drink innovators, Buck & Birch comprising entrepreneurial founders Tom and Rupert have spent almost a decade creating products and experiences using foraged ingredients from their East Lothian base.
We were asked to create an adaptable identity that could grow with the business and acknowledges the company’s artisan credentials and artistic inclinations. B&B is more chef than distiller. More curator than restauranteur. The brand is the key ingredient in connecting produce hiding in plain sight all around us and wild culinary escapes. Now as serious about growth as they are about their wild flavour library, we needed to refresh the Buck & Birch brand identity to reflect this new ambition and take the company to new audiences with new products and partnerships.
The partnership idea was the key to unlocking this brief. It was mentioned consistently as the project began and it made sense when thinking about the partnership between the founders, the mix of human and nature, the wild ingredients, the mix of food and drink, and the strong partnerships with other local brands. Inspired by this idea, the ampersand, which was already an asset being used by the brand was developed further across our comms.
